Abstract

Moth flies are common and widespread fuzzy-winged insects typically finding in various types of aquatic or semiaquatic habitats such as sewage, drainpipes, bathroom or wetlands. Taxonomic research on moth flies in Korea was scarce, with only 11 species among 3 genera known to occur to date. As a part of ongoing research on moth flies in Korea, three newly recorded species and one species new to science are described, viz., Brunettia lungjingensis Huang & Chen 2001, Philosepedon monstruosum Ježek & Mogi 1995, Clogmia albipunctata (Williston, 1893) and Thornburghiella bellacornis sp. nov. Descriptions, photographs, and illustrations of these four species are presented.
