Abstract
Robo-taxis are fast becoming the new mobility option for city dwellers. Based on the data of 666 valid questionnaires in China, this study conducted a comprehensive analysis across economics, sociology and psychology by using structural equation model (SEM), and explored the key factors influencing the adoption of Robo-taxi by potential users, with special attention to demographic differences. The results show that performance expectation and hedonic motivation significantly enhance the price value of Robo-taxi and enhance the willingness to use it. However, risk perception obviously inhibits the public's willingness to use. In addition, gender, age and education level have important effects on behavioral intention: men attach more importance to economic values, women attach more importance to social factors; With the increase of age, the willingness to use decreased; Higher education is associated with greater willingness to use. Through interdisciplinary analysis, this study reveals how multiple factors work together to make Robo-taxi adoption decisions, providing strategic guidance for autonomous vehicle manufacturers, taxi service providers, and public transportation strategic planners to accelerate public acceptance and adoption of Robo-taxis.
