Abstract
The poor hot workability of Cu-Ti alloys (Ti content > 4 wt%) severely restricts their wide applications. In this work, we report on a study of the effect of hot strain on the dynamic recrystallization (DRX), precipitation and coordinated deformation behaviors of Cu-4.3 wt% alloy. Our results show that based on the obtained constitutive equation and thermal activation energies, the corresponding workability maps of alloy can be established and used to solve the difficulty in hot working. The complex interactions that occur between dislocation and precipitates lead to the differences in DRX and precipitation for the changed strain rates and temperatures. Our results provide fundamental insight into the DRX, precipitation and coordinated deformation in high Ti concentration of Cu-Ti alloys with poor deformability, as a function of hot strain.
