Abstract
The Front Cover illustrates a transformation pathway leading to the deuteration of amidines, catalyzed by Mn(CO)5Br, with acetyl groups acting as the concerted metallation–deprotonation base. Two production line designs, reflecting varying efficiencies, emphasize that the reaction predominantly proceeds through a manganese-catalyzed five-membered cyclic transition state and highlight the efficacy and regioselectivity of the catalytic process.
