The unknown expansion coefficients are determined by using the continuous boundary conditions and projection procedure. In the uniaxial anisotropic cylinder, the optical axis is arbitrarily oriented with respect to the cylinder axis. Abstract
Based on the electromagnetic fields expansions in terms of appropriate cylindrical vector wave functions, an investigation into the scattering by a uniaxial anisotropic cylinder is carried out. The unknown expansion coefficients are determined by using the continuous boundary conditions and projection procedure. In the uniaxial anisotropic cylinder, the optical axis is arbitrarily oriented with respect to the cylinder axis. For incidence of a plane wave and fundamental Gaussian beam, the scattering widths and normalized field intensity distributions are calculated, followed by a brief discussion of the scattering characteristics.
