Abstract
An open hollow polyoxovanadate (POV) cage, , has been successfully constructed using {Nb(V5)} pentagons as building blocks. The POV cage features a crown-ether-like {V4P4O8} opening that can selectively coordinate with Cs+ ions. Additionally, it has a hollow cavity that acts as a molecular container to accommodate size-appropriate organic molecules.
