Abstract
Medical students face a steep learning curve transitioning from theory to wet lab work, especially in the first few years of the study. This gap is evident in understanding protocols, operating equipment and conducting research confidently. To address this, the programme offers a tailored introduction to wet lab work specifically tailored to the needs of medical students at Wenzhou Medical University. Focusing on practical skills and experience, it helps students adapt to research while building competence and confidence.
To help medical students get used to laboratory work, a multi-stage training programme was created and implemented. The programme consisted of the following components:
The implementation of this training programme highlighted several key lessons:
Shiyue Sun: Writing—original draft; writing—review and editing; conceptualization. Tingting Chen: Conceptualization; writing—original draft; writing—review and editing. Hafiz Muhammad Ahmad Javaid: Conceptualization; investigation; project administration; supervision; writing—original draft; writing—review and editing.
The authors declare that they have no known competing financial interests or personal relationships that could have appeared to influence the work reported in this paper.
