Abstract

A series of Pd3L4, Pd4L4 and Pd5L4-type Multi-Cavity Discrete Coordination Cages (MCDCCs) featuring two, three and four cavities are prepared by complexation of Pd(ii) with designer tris-, tetrakis and pentakis-monodentate ligands. The cavities of these MCDCCs encapsulated up to four units of pyrazine-N,N′-dioxide (PZDO).
