Among those, triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is considered to be advanced and next generation self-powered sensors and energy harvester. Therefore, TENGs are widely studied and developed with various mechanism and structure. In this review article, we have studied the several mechanisms specific to the key elements of traffic monitoring such as vehicle, road and environment. Abstract

Traffic monitoring and safety are key for reducing road accidents because the road network is increasing rapidly and becoming completed day by day. Various energy harvesters and sensors have been invented for analyzing the factors involved in traffic movement like vehicle, road and environment. Among those, triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) is considered to be advanced and next generation self-powered sensors and energy harvester. Therefore, TENGs are widely studied and developed with various mechanism and structure. In this review article, we have studied the several mechanisms specific to the key elements of traffic monitoring such as vehicle, road and environment.
