The functional role of the major components required for the cultivation of cyanobacteria is de- scribed. Abstract
Up-to-date methods for isolation of cyanobacteria from soil samples, removal of accompanying microflora, obtaining axenic strains, and -conditions and media for subsequnt cultivation are reviewed.
