Human genetic mutations and murine genetic deficiency models of metabolic enzymes or transporters largely suggest that these alterations in metabolism are maladaptive and contribute to the cardiac remodeling and dysfunction. Abstract
Cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure involve a number of metabolic alterations.
