A hitherto undescribed larva belonging to the family Neothrombiidae was found parasitizing Rhipicephalus sanguineus. This is the first record of a member of the family Ixodidae (Acari: Parasitiformes: Ixodida) serving as host for a parasitengone larva. The members of the genus Cicaditrombium Saboori & Lazarboni originally described from Iran, are known as parasites of Hemiptera (Cicadidae) and Lepidoptera (Noctuidae).
