Abstract

In San Juan de Pasto, an area of high seismicity, the buildings on land constitute a value of the nation’s cultural interest; Most of the historical buildings in Colombia are of this type, such as the Imperial Theater (1922). Therefore, it is a challenge for Colombian engineering and for the Ministry of Culture to determine seismic vulnerability to regulate the protection of heritage; however, the Sismo Resistente Norm of Colombia does not regulate structural analysis and recovery due to lack of research.
