Abstract
This paper presents water quality assessments in the Peti reservoir watershed, located in upper Doce River, in 2014, by use of the saprobic index Minas-Rio (ISMR), biological monitoring working party/average score per taxon (BMWP/ASPT) Minas, revised and consolidated as based on a series of historical hydrobiological data obtained since 1985. The data included a list of 106 families and 176 genera of lotic tropical macroinvertebrated, with its saprobic weighted indexes and saprobic system scores. The sampling in Doce River included 13 collection sites, processed according to multi-habitat methods. Water quality results were similar among the applied indexes, indicating good water quality in all sites investigated, except three of which were classified as classes 3 and 4.
