Abstract
ABSTRACT In order to test the improvement effect of the Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC)-based hybrid English teaching mode on the English listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills of students, this study divided 200 college students into two groups. One group was the control group which was taught by the traditional teaching mode, while the other group was the experimental group which was taught by the MOOC-based hybrid teaching mode. The listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities of the two groups were tested before and after teaching. Moreover, a questionnaire survey was carried out after teaching test. The results showed that the listening, speaking, reading, and writing abilities of the experimental group what was taught by the MOOC-based hybrid English teaching mode was effectively improved. The results of the questionnaire survey also demonstrated that the MOOC-based hybrid English teaching mode was more effective in stimulating students’ interest in learning.
