The study is a report of an internship experience in Psychological Assessment and Psychodiagnosis developed by academics from the 7th period of the Psychology course, aiming to discuss the practice of the Psychological Assessment process, in the activity of the Public Policy psychology professional assistants. The internship took place between the months of August and December 2020 at a Reference Center for Social Assistance in a peripheral neighborhood in a city in the interior of the state of Maranhão, after authorization from the Ministry of Education - MEC, for the return of curricular internships. caused by COVID-19 contingencies. The experience of conducting the internship in psychological assessment in a public institution like CRAS is challenging for any student of psychology, since the institution does not provide the appropriate physical, structural and instrumental environment for the psychological assessment process, being successful in tracking users of the service that needed psychological interventions and were referred to health services.
