Abstract

Objective To explore the effect and safety of radiotherapy post operation combined with hyperbaric oxygen in treatment of keloid. Methods From Jan. 1st 2015 to Dec. 30th 2016, patients with keloid in Plastic Surgery Hospital of Beijing Union Medical College and Navy General Hospital were selected and randomly divided into the radiotherapy post operation group and radiotherapy post operation combined with hyperbaric oxygen group. Adverse reactions of both groups of patients during treatment were recorded and calculated. The Vancouver scar scale was used to evaluate treatment effect of both groups of patients; The clinical effect and the recurrence rate of both groups were observed. Results Compared with before treatment, the Vancouver scar scale scores of both groups of patients after treatment was decreased significantly, but patients in radiotherapy post operation combined with hyperbaric oxygen gorup decreased more significantly (P 0.05). Conclusions Radiotherapy post operative combined with hyperbaric oxygen in the treatment of keloids is better than postoperative radiotherapy alone, with low recurrence rate and good safety. It may become a new choice for keloid treatment. Key words: Keloid; Surgery; Safety; Treatment Outcome; Radiotherapy; Hyperbaric Oxygen Treatment
