Abstract
With the well-documented shortage of physicians and advanced practitioners coupled with the increased demand for healthcare services, it is not surprising that workforce continuity is the top concern of hospital leadership. Old perceptions regarding the use of locum tenens no longer apply. A big shift is occurring in the market, and the increased use of locum tenens makes the difference for struggling healthcare systems.
