Similarity analyses showed differences between the OsHV-1 of Crassostrea gigas and the OsHV-1 of N. subnodosus from Mexico, however the sequence was identical to that of OsHV-1 from France 1993. Abstract

This study is the first report of the presence of Ostreid herpes virus 1 (OsHV-1) in the scallop Nodipecten subnodosus from Baja California Sur, Mexico; collected from 2010 to 2012.The retrospective study was conducted to evaluate whether OsHV-1 was implicated in the population decline of 2010. The virus was detected by PCR, and viral particles were quantified by qPCR.
