Abstract

In the Geneva approach to the study of discourse (Geneva School), the research on discourse relations (illocutionary and interactive) and their markers privilege the study of how the speaker, to achieve a monological completeness, establishes these relationships to produce an informative textual segment (intervention). However, these studies do not show the influence of ritual restrictions, concerning the preservation of faces and territories, on the establishment of these relationships. Therefore, this paper presents a proposal for the treatment of interactive relationships that considers the impact of ritual restrictions on the elaboration of the intervention.
