Abstract

Syncope is defined as a sudden and short-term loss of consciousness and postural tone with rapid sudden and complete recovery lasting from a few seconds to 2 minutes. 30-50% of children have at least one attack of unconsciousness and one in 100 children who come for an examination to the Emergency Pediatric Clinic come under the diagnosis of syncope.
