DPPH radical scavenging activity values were 2.28 (Mespilus germanica L.) – 12.34 μmol TE.g-1 DW (Cornus mas L.). Spearman's test showed a positive relationship between both monitored parameters. The content of vitamin C in the studied species showed a positive relationship with antioxidant activity. Abstract

This study aims to determine the vitamin C content and antioxidant activity in different types of fruit: cornelian cherry (Cornus mas L.), service tree (Sorbus domestica), medlar (Mespilus germanica L.), pawpaw (Asimina triloba L.), persimmon (Diospyros kaki L.). The aim of the work was to compare these used methods. The fruit’s vitamin C content was determined by HPLC system Waters Separations Module 2695 with UV detector 2996.
