Abstract

The end of autarchy led to an industrial crisis in Alcoy in 1964. The consequence of this economic event was the appearance of industrial cooperatives run by cooperative workers to respond to the labour crisis. An experience that in the city had a precedent in the total unification of the local manufacturing industry during the Civil War. Well, the investigation affects the evolution of the traditional textile industry which led to a labour crisis and how the workers faced and resolved the situation.
