We have found the first-order exterior resonant orbits using the numerical technique of PSS and analysed the effects of eccentricity of the primaries’ orbit, radiation pressure and Jacobi constant on locations, periods, eccentricities and semi-major axes of resonant periodic orbits. Abstract

In this study, the autonomous elliptical restricted three-body problem is used for obtaining Poincaré surface of sections in the photogravitational Sun–Saturn system. We have found the first-order exterior resonant orbits using the numerical technique of PSS and analysed the effects of eccentricity of the primaries’ orbit, radiation pressure and Jacobi constant on locations, periods, eccentricities and semi-major axes of resonant periodic orbits. It is observed that these orbits surround both primaries for all values of eccentricity of the primaries’ orbit and remain in the first-order exterior resonance with the Saturn.
