EL CONSUMO DE AGUA POTABLE EN LOS MUNICIPIOS TURÍSTICOS DEL LITORAL DE LA REGIÓN DE MURCIA

Abstract

The Region of Murcia is an area with a semi-arid Mediterranean climate with scarce water resources. Providing its tourist coastline with safe flows, especially in summer, the time of greatest influx that coincides with the summer drought, is a task that conditions and sustains the economic development of the Region. The objective of this article is to analyze the consumption of potable water in the coastal municipalities of the Region of Murcia in the period 2016-2020, through a qualitative and quantitative study. Differences in performance, per capita consumption and seasonality stand out. La Región de Murcia es un área de clima mediterráneo semiárido con escasez de recursos hídricos. Dotar a su litoral turístico de unos caudales seguros, especialmente en verano, momento de mayor afluencia que coincide con la sequía estival, es una tarea que condiciona y sustenta el desarrollo económico de la Región. El objetivo de este artículo es analizar el consumo de agua potable en los municipios del litoral de la Región de Murcia en el periodo 2016-2020, mediante un estudio cualitativo y cuantitativo. Se destacan las diferencias en cuanto a rendimiento, consumo per cápita y estacionalidad.
