This paper analyzes music festivals as a territorial structuring tool as part of a larger reflection on the resilience of territories highly dependent on tourism. The results obtained from our study on the Empordà (Costa Brava), through in-depth interviews and a system of quantitative indicators, confirm that these cultural tourism products function as microclusters, creating and reinforcing stable relationships between local actors. When they become one more product in a multifunctional territory, they can contribute to making destinations and territories more resilient. En el marco de una reflexión sobre la resiliencia de un territorio altamente dependiente del turismo como el Empordà (Costa Brava), este trabajo analiza los festivales de música como herramienta de estructuración territorial. Los resultados obtenidos, a través de entrevistas en profundidad y un sistema de indicadores cuantitativos, confirman que estos productos turísticos culturales funcionan como microclústers, creando y reforzando relaciones estables entre actores locales. During these past decades, tourist supply and demand have both diversified. This is one major reason why different types of tourism have multiplied (golf tourism, birdwatching, etc.) Along with these typologies, there are others that are more difficult to conceptualise. To avoid this confusion, clear guidelines are necessary in order to classify types of tourism. The present article sets out a proposal to classify tourist typologies or modalities based on a series of previously defined basic criteria. Durante las últimas décadas el turismo se ha convertido en una actividad en la que la oferta y la demanda han aumentado su diversidad. Esta es una de las razones que explican la multiplicación de los tipos de turismo (turismo de golf, birdwatching, etc.). Junto a estas tipologías se presentan otras más difíciles de conceptualizar. The Airbnb phenomenon in Barcelona has come to occupy a central role in the local public debate. This has all been substantially altered by the global spread of COVID-19. This scenario has promoted a reformulation of the tourist rental scene, of both regular rentals and those that were also involved in the local tourism scene on an informal and/or irregular basis. In this article, we use this context as a starting point in order to analyse how this adaptation of the tourist rental sector has taken place in Barcelona, in relation to a flexible interpretation of the legislation on urban leases. In order to do that, the methodology uses is basically qualitative, although with the support of a survey in a way of triangulation system of research. El fenómeno Airbnb en Barcelona ha pasado a ocupar un papel central en el debate público local. Todo esto ha sido sustancialmente alterado por la propagación global de COVID-19. Este escenario ha promovido una reformulación del escenario del alquiler turístico, tanto de los alquileres regulares como de aquellos que también se involucraban en el escenario turístico local de manera informal y/o irregular. En este artículo, tomamos este contexto como punto de partida para analizar cómo se ha producido esta adaptación del sector del alquiler turístico en Barcelona, en relación con una interpretación flexible de la legislación sobre arrendamientos urbanos. Over the past few decades, dark tourism has become increasingly popular. The level of participation of the dark tourist within a dark site underlies the variety of experiences that can be produced, depending on the type of audience engagement. This study attempts to design the discourse of a performance-based typology of dark tourism, built on the representations of tourists’ participation within the Netflix documentary series Dark Tourist. As screen tourism can influence behavior patterns, a typology of spectator, spect-actor, and actor roles is presented. En las últimas décadas, el turismo oscuro se ha vuelto cada vez más popular. The present study proposes to trace, analyze and describe the history of some of the most representative denominations of tourism typologies used in Spain since the beginning of the 20th century. This research is part of the research project El Léxico especializado del español contemporáneo (LEEC) undertaken by the Neolcyt team, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation, and formed by researchers from different Spanish universities, with the aim of developing materials that will serve for the creation of a historical dictionary of the technical and scientific lexicon that is currently lacking in the Spanish language. En el presente estudio se propone rastrear, analizar y describir la historia de algunas de las denominaciones más representativas de tipologías de turismo usadas en España desde principios del siglo XX. Throughout this research, it seems essential to approach, from the perspective of tourism resources, indicators such as the “Water Footprint” whose territorial and regional projection facilitate the analysis and interpretation of inter- and intra-regional realities, whose valuation favors the study and interpretation of the existing differences, in the all spatial scales, approaching what the concept of sustainability entails, contributing to the subsequent decision-making, the basis for the valuation and use of tourist resources (in this way, its incorporation into the general theory of economic development is facilitated based on the verification of the centrality that these issues have acquired in the current approaches to territorial and regional development). In fact, from the scope of the so-called postmodernity that announces the end of the territory and the “no/place” also includes the denial of the idea of region, at a time when no subspace on the planet can be freed from the joint process of globalization and fragmentation, that is, individualization and regionalization (phenomena that mark spatial differences and imbalances, as shown in this article, a matter of notable importance when dealing with the “Water Footprint” in its relationship with resources and tourist activities). A lo largo de la presente investigación se nos antoja imprescindible aproximarnos, desde la perspectiva de los recursos turísticos, a indicadores como el de “Huella Hídrica” cuya proyección territorial y regional faciliten el análisis e interpretación de realidades inter e intrarregionales, cuya valoración favorezca el estudio e interpretación de las diferencias existentes, en las distintas escalas espaciales, aproximándonos a lo que entraña el concepto de sustentabilidad, coadyuvando a la posterior toma de decisiones, base para la valoración y uso de los recursos turísticos (se facilita, de esta forma, su incorporación a la teoría general del desarrollo económico a partir de la constatación de la centralidad que estas cuestiones han adquirido en los enfoques actuales del desarrollo territorial y regional). De hecho, desde el ámbito de la denominada postmodernidad que anuncia el fin del territorio y el “no/lugar” se incluye también la negación de la idea de región, en un momento en que ningún subespacio del planeta puede librarse del proceso conjunto de globalización y fragmentación, es decir, la individualización y la regionalización (fenómenos que marcan las diferencias y desequilibrios espaciales, tal y como se pone de manifiesto en el presente artículo, cuestión de notable importancia a la hora de tratar de la “Huella Hídrica” en su relación con los recursos y las actividades turísticas).

In fact, from the scope of the so-called postmodernity that announces the end of the territory and the “no/place” also includes the denial of the idea of region, at a time when no subspace on the planet can be freed from the joint process of globalization and fragmentation, that is, individualization and regionalization (phenomena that mark spatial differences and imbalances, as shown in this article, a matter of notable importance when dealing with the “Water Footprint” in its relationship with resources and tourist activities).\u0000 A lo largo de la presente investigación se nos antoja imprescindible aproximarnos, desde la perspectiva de los recursos turísticos, a indicadores como el de “Huella Hídrica” cuya proyección territorial y regional faciliten el análisis e interpretación de realidades inter e intrarregionales, cuya valoración favorezca el estudio e interpretación de las diferencias existentes, en las distintas escalas espaciales, aproximándonos a lo que entraña el concepto de sustentabilidad, coadyuvando a la posterior toma de decisiones, base para la valoración y uso de los recursos turísticos (se facilita, de esta forma, su incorporación a la teoría general del desarrollo económico a partir de la constatación de la centralidad que estas cuestiones han adquirido en los enfoques actuales del desarrollo territorial y regional). In Matehuala, a regional center of San Luis Potosí located in the northern center of the Mexican Altiplano, landscapes typical of the dry tropics and cultural remains of tourist value are combined with the presence of sporadic and torrential rains, and floods that affect the site. There are few methodological references to spatially differentiate the way in which sites are recovered after a threat occurs. The work reveals levels of tourism resilience under the physical, economic, human and social capital approach with the probabilistic typing method. It was found that the most impacted areas are more resilient because they have better organizational conditions. En Matehuala, centro regional de San Luis Potosí ubicado en el centro norte del Altiplano mexicano, se combinan paisajes propios del trópico seco y vestigios culturales de valor turístico con la presencia de lluvias esporádicas y torrenciales e inundaciones que afectan al sitio. Existen pocos referentes metodológicos para diferenciar espacialmente la forma en que se recuperan los sitios tras ocurrir una amenaza. El trabajo revela niveles de resiliencia turística bajo el enfoque del capital físico, económico, social y humano, con el método de tipificación probabilística. Se detectó que las áreas más impactadas son más resilientes porque tienen mejores condiciones organizativas.

Given the increasing importance of railways in the global context, either as a means of transport or as a tourist product, this paper aims to provide an alternative to the closure of the Aranjuez-Cuenca-Utiel railway in Spain. From the point of view of sustainable tourism, it is intended to highlight the role of this railway as a backbone of territorial socioeconomic development. The recovery and enhancement of the Portuguese Duero line is presented as an example for the future of the Cuenca’s Province railway. Ante la cada vez mayor importancia del ferrocarril en el contexto global, ya sea como medio de transporte, o bien, como producto turístico, en el presente trabajo se pretende proporcionar una alternativa al cierre al tráfico de la línea férrea Aranjuez-Cuenca-Utiel. Desde la óptica del turismo sostenible, se pretende destacar el papel de este ferrocarril como un elemento vertebrador del territorio capaz de impulsar el desarrollo socioeconómico. La recuperación e impulso de línea del Duero en Portugal es presentada como ejemplo de buenas prácticas para el futuro de la línea conquense.

Since ancient history, human beings have travelled to other places in search of remedies to improve their health or find a cure for their disease. In the last decades, the number of people traveling in search of medical and wellness treatments and interventions has grown significantly, making health tourism an important sector of the global economy. Therefore, health tourism, due to its potential, represents a great opportunity for business, wealth, and employment development. Spain, thanks to its geographical position and a series of environmental, climatic, cultural and lifestyle characteristics, has become the second most visited country by tourists. Its wide range of health services and its availability of resources have made it one of the main tourist destinations for medical and/or wellness reasons. Despite the innumerable benefits of international health tourism, the development of this tourism typology can also have adverse effects. These disadvantages must be overcome through healthcare strategies - by the responsible governments and institutions - to guarantee and accredit the veracity and quality of these services in the visited countries. This would give greater certainty and trust to health tourists without affecting access and health care for residents in the receiving country. Desde la antigüedad, los seres humanos han viajado a otros lugares en busca de remedios para mejorar su salud o encontrar una cura a su enfermedad. En las últimas décadas, el número de personas que viajan en busca de tratamientos e intervenciones médicas y de bienestar ha crecido notablemente, convirtiendo al turismo de salud en un importante sector de la economía mundial. Por ello, el turismo de salud, debido a su potencial, representa una gran oportunidad de negocio, creación de riqueza y empleo. España, gracias a su posición geográfica y a una serie de características ambientales, climáticas, culturales y estilos de vida se ha convertido en el segundo país más visitado por los turistas. Su amplia oferta de servicios sanitarios y su disponibilidad de recursos la han convertido en uno de los principales destinos turísticos por motivos médicos y/o de bienestar. A pesar de los innumerables beneficios del turismo de salud internacional, el desarrollo de esta tipología también puede tener efectos adversos, tanto en el país receptor, como en el país emisor. Estos inconvenientes deben superarse mediante estrategias sanitarias - por parte de los gobiernos y las instituciones responsables - que permitan garantizar y acreditar la veracidad y calidad de estas prestaciones en los países receptores. De este modo, se daría mayor tranquilidad y confianza a los turistas de salud sin que ello repercuta en el acceso y la atención sanitaria por parte de los residentes en el país receptor.

The Castille Canal has become a tourist resource for the territory. Associated with this hydraulic infrastructure are architectural elements that attract visitors. This heritage has been maintained thanks to public interventions which, in addition to allowing its conservation, have turned the Castille Canal into an attraction for tourism and hikers. This article aims to highlight the Castille Canal’s heritage as a tourist resource and to analyse the role of the programmes launched to rehabilitate and recover this heritage. El Canal de Castilla se ha convertido en un recurso turístico para el territorio. Asociado a esta infraestructura hidráulica se encuentran elementos arquitectónicos que constituyen un atractivo para los visitantes. El mantenimiento de este patrimonio ha sido posible gracias a las intervenciones públicas que, además de permitir su conservación, han convertido al Canal de Castilla en un atractivo turístico. Con este trabajo se pretende poner en valor el patrimonio del Canal de Castilla como recurso turístico y analizar el papel de los programas de rehabilitación y recuperación de este patrimonio.
