Abstract
The article analyzes the role of L. Drobizheva and her ethno-sociological school in the study of the all-Russian identity emerging in the multiethnic social space of the Russian Federation. Drobizheva and her colleagues conducted a scientific search for mechanisms of nationwide consolidation are revealed: such mechanisms include those that are formed by the state, the elite, civil activists, experts, the media, institutions and public opinion, as well as those that spontaneously arise at the level of everyday life. The transformation of the methodological approaches of L. Drobizheva and her school towards the study of “ethnic in social and social in ethnic” is presented. The author elaborates on the method for studying the all-Russian identity formulated at the meeting point of theoretical approaches of sociocultural anthropology and classical sociology. Certain results from projects that research the all-Russian identity conducted within the framework of the ethno-sociological school of L. Drobizheva are presented.
