espanolLa melina es una especie forestal de origen asiatico que se caracteriza por tener rapido crecimiento. Los usos mas comunes que se le dan son para la elaboracion de muebles, construccion estructural, obra liviana, carpinteria y ebanisteria, sin embargo, actualmente a los frutos de melina no se le ha dado un uso en la industria. Por ello, el objetivo de este trabajo fue el aprovechamiento integral de la melina para uso en la industria alimentaria como agente antimicrobiano y como un colorante natural para la industria textil. Esto se logro a traves de un diseno experimental para la evaluacion antimicrobiana y su uso como colorante.
