This paper discusses three models of fast monohull displacement ships of various purpose and one model of fast passenger catamaran. The purpose of the study was to experimentally verify the efficiency of transom interceptor in towing resistance reduction. Subject matter and methods. The study was based on the test results available with Krylov State Research Centre Deepwater Towing Tank. Main results. This study was performed on four models and showed how their towing resistance depended on interceptor advance and static trim angle. Conclusion. The tests have confirmed the efficiency of transom interceptor in towing resistance reduction of fast displacement monohulls and catamarans with operational speeds corresponding to Froude numbers 0,4–0,6. Abstract

Object and purpose of research. This paper discusses three models of fast monohull displacement ships of various purpose and one model of fast passenger catamaran.
