The relationships (alignments) among taxonomic concepts are presented in a graphical format. We found that much of the confusion related to C. arctica in Beringia stems from overlooking C. scammaniana Hultén sensu Hultén (1939), and placing too much emphasis on the woody caudex and perennation structures, during the creation of two taxonomic concepts: C. arctica Adams sensu Porsild and C. porsildii Jurtzev sensu Yurtsev. We encourage submissions of original papers dealing with significant advances in the taxonomy, phylogeny, biogeography, paleobiology, and evolution of plants, and in conservation genetics and biology, restoration ecology, and ethnobiology, using morphological and/or molecular characters, field observations, and/or database information. We also welcome reviews and papers on conceptual issues and new methodologies in systematics. Important floristic works will also be considered.
