The full-filed surface deformation of U-notched sheet metal was measured by digital image correlation technique. Three-dimensional finite element modeling using the Hill model and calibrated post-necking strain hardening curve was performed to obtain the force and strain history till the crack initiation. The crack propagation was numerically simulated employing a strain-to-failure model. Abstract
The plastic deformation and ductile failure behaviors of anisotropic AISI 1018 low carbon steel and C260 Cu-Zn brass under uniaxial tensile loading were investigated.
