Psychological Effects of COVID-19 Pandemic on Dentistry Students

Abstract

Healthy life behaviours are known as the choices of diet, physical activity, hygiene habits, supportive relationship with family and friends that can positively affect the personal well-being while performing daily routine activities (Hoying, Melnyk, Hutson & Tan, 2020). The aims of the present survey are as follows: 1) to examine stress levels and healthy daily life routines -by a universally preferred measurement scale- of the dentistry students due to the COVTD-19 pandemic and 2) to investigate whether variables such as gender, educational grade, economic status, etc. have an effect on students' healthy lifestyle habits and stress parameters during the COVTD-19 pandemic. [...]as to carry out the study, consent was received from the ethics committee of the institution where the research would be conducted (decision/protocol number of the approval: 07.07.2020 / 21) and from the authors who developed the Turkish version of the data collection tools. The data of the study were collected by using "Personal Information Form" and the Turkish versions of the "Health-promoting Lifestyle Profile II (HPLP-II)" and "Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10)" forms.
