Introducing the Harley Hammerman Collection on Eugene O'neill at Washington University

Abstract

ABSTRACT:The Harley Hammerman Collection on Eugene O'Neill opened for research at Washington University in St. Louis in 2019. The collection contains fifty-five linear feet of manuscripts, photographs, playbills, posters, and other unique and rare materials by and pertinent to Eugene O'Neill, as well as roughly fifty-seven linear feet of O'Neill books, videos, and related publications. Washington University also maintains Hammerman's extensive website, eoneill.com. This article surveys the collection, by way of providing guidance to scholars who stand to benefit from working with the collection.
