Therefore, this research aims to analyze the level of role of parents, friends, and social media in local language, analyze their attitude toward their local language maintenance, and analyze the influencing role of parents, friends, and social media towards IPB University students’ attitude on the local language maintenance. The method used in this study was quantitative descriptive. The participants were 98 respondents from IPB University (PPKU IPB students). Data was collected using a questionnaire, observation, and interviews. Quantitative data was processed by multivariate statistics to analyze the influencing role of parents, friends, and social media towards IPB University students’ attitude on the local language maintenance. The results of this study revealed that respondents had higher cognitive knowledge towards local languages. This aspect was the same as other aspects like affective and conative component. This indicated that respondents had a good awareness and behavior towards local languages. The role of parents had a positive and significant influence towards the students’ attitude of local language maintenance. Abstract
