Abstract
This paper gives an account of the history of the Optometric Historical Society (OHS), based on material in its quarterly publication, variously named Newsletter of the Optometric Historical Society (1970-1991), Hindsight (1992-2006), and Hindsight: Journal of Optometry History (2007-present). Operated as an independent organization for many years from its founding in 1969, the OHS became a part of Optometry Cares – The AOA Foundation in 2012.
