Abstract
The study of the Orquesta Nacional de Espana (ONE) during the Spanish transition (1975-82) sheds light on the discourses configured around democracy. The fact of being the most favoured group by the State invites us to explore the musical politics of that time, still very affected by the triumphalist inertia inherited from the Franco regime. From 1977, some significant changes occurred: the creation of the Direccion General de Musica by Jesus Aguirre, the conversion of the ONE into an Autonomous Organism and the publication of the Regulation in 1982. All these changes led to a more inclusive management from the sociological perspective and according to the programmed contemporary Spanish repertoire. However, feminist analysis limits this progress. The comparison of unpublished material, obtained from the Administration General Archive, with that of newspapers confirms our proposal.
