Abstract
The objective of this paper is to determine the factors associated with the results of the Quality of Education Measurement System (SIMCE) test for 31 schools in the province of Copiapó (Chile). The period between 2005 and 2014. As an endogenous variable, the average SIMCE score for reading and mathematics has been used and as exogenous variables different socioeconomic variables, typical of the centers and institutions. A multiple regression model is estimated. The results show that the relevant factors associated with SIMCE are the socioeconomic group, the percentage of students with Internet in the home and the percentage of students who repeat.
