Juventud y violencia de persecución en Euskadi: ETA y el PSE-EE, 1995-2011

Abstract

From 1995 to 2011, the phenomenon known as persecution violence took place in the Basque Country, when the strategy known as the socialization of suffering implemented by ETA and its diffuse environment of Herri Batasuna expanded its objectives to broad layers of the Basque population. In this work, one of these target groups is presented, the militant youth in the PSE-EE, who at that time joined political activity when they were very young, and how this phenomenon impacted on them. On the other hand, the phenomenon is contextualized, with special emphasis on how the persecution violence occurred, what mechanisms were put in place (especially the kale borroka). Access to the past has been done both through documentary sources and oral history.
