Abstract
Hypertension is one of the leading causes of death in humans and is associated with cardiovascular disease. Hypertension can damage liver associated with Reactive Oxygen Species (ROS). Mango and tea parasites are useful as herbal medicines to maintain the health of the human body. This study aims to determine the effect of the methanolic extract of the combination of tea and mango parasites on the liver histopathology of hypertensive rats (DOCA-Salt), the experimental design used was a completely randomized design with 25 male wistar rats grouped into 5 treatments, namely control (-) = 0 mg/KgBW EMKBTBM, control (+) = 15 mg/KgBW DOCA-Salt, P1, P2, P3 respectively 50, 100, 200 mg/KgBW EMKBTBM. The data analysis used is a two-way ANOVA test, namely JAMOVI with version 1.1.9.0. The results of this study indicate that there is a highly significant difference (p-value) <0.05 in zones 1, 2 and 3 compared to all treatment groups and all treatment groups, that is, between the group of control (+) and control group (-), treatments 1, 2 and 3 were significantly different in mean necrosis (pyknosis, karyorrhexis, karyolysis) of hepatic hepatocytes. It was verified with the results of the analysis that stated that the value of p <0.05 was <0.001, so that the administration of a combination of tea and extract of mango parasites could reduce necrosis (pycnosis, karyorrhea and karyolysis) in hepatocytes from the livers of hypertensive rats.
