Using LEGO Play and Storytelling to Promote Descriptive Language

Abstract

that LEGO bricks are their favorite in the block play corner. They often engage in make-believe play while engaging with the LEGO bricks, creating stories using characters and objects they construct. Using their LEGO constructions as props in storytelling provides dynamic and interactive visualizations as children describe events, characters, or objects, which improves storytelling performance. We wanted to find out if children’s interest in playing with LEGO bricks could be a jumpingoff point to stimulate their use of descriptive language and improve their storytelling skills.
