One-hectare grids were trapped in a mixed deciduous forest in northwestern Massachusetts. Results for all four dependent variables (pregnancy, nonpregnancy, molting, and body weights) indicated a bimodal pattern of recruitment for <em>P. leucopus noveboracensis</em> and a unimodal pattern for <em>P. maniculatus gracilis</em>.
