Abstract

Four chemicals registered for ant control in Tasmania and available in household packs (bendiocarb, chlorpyrifos, diazinon and permethrin) are effective in the control of jackjumper ant, Myrmecia pilosula. Chlordane also gave control but was slow to act. Propoxur was ineffective.
