Abstract
The Second Italo-Abyssinian conflict (1935-1936) triggered a strong social polarization worldwide. Inside and outside Africa, Abyssinia (now Ethiopia) found many expressions of support in defense of its freedom and displays of respect as a member state of the League of Nations since 1923, while in many places voices in favor of fascism supported armed aggression.
