Abstract
Edward Altman has spent the last decade developing media semantics as a senior scientist at the Institute for Infocomm Research (I2R), Singapore, and before that as a visiting researcher at ATR Media Integration & Communications Research Laboratories, Japan. He received a PhD in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Illinois, USA (1990) and performed post-doctoral research in a joint computer vision and cognitive science program at the Beckman Institute for Advanced Science and Technology.
