The paper deal with an overview of approaches to understanding landscape planning in the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States. The origins of landscape planning in Ukraine are traced, the legislative bases for the implementation of landscape planning, its main tasks and functions are determined. The general scheme of realization of landscape planning by consecutive implementation of a number of working stages is presented, each of which is devoted to the decision of a concrete task. Abstract
