Abstract
This article seeks to analyze the process of social construction of the territory and the local possibilities of development existing in the case of the communities of Cayambe linked to the agro-industry. Will be explored how from the insertion to the market of peasant economies are generated transformations that point to a process of deterritorialisation. In this way, it is stimulating interest in rethinking the existing social organization from the perspective of struggle of actors in the socio-economic field and also incorporate the "territorial proximity" as an essential element for achieving a better positioning and a more balanced relationship between local and external actors.
