Abstract
This cross-sectional cephalometric study analyzed the developmental changes in the craniofacial growth in 120 patients aged 6 to 11, with unilateral cleft lip and palate. Based on 3 angular and 2 linear cephalometric analyses, obtained from the cleft group compared among themselves and with the values considered as normal to noncleft Brazilian children, we concluded that: maxilla and mandible showed a retrusion and a decrease in effective length, the maxillomandibular relationship was acceptable and positive, and the growth of the maxilla and mandible was similar in the female and male groups.
