Mapeamento da tubulação de cimento-amianto na rede de distribuição de água de Princesa Isabel – PB

Abstract

The supply of water to consumers requires a supply system that works efficiently. However, supply companies have problem to ensure this efficiency due to several structural factors – among these, they can be cited: the age of the distribution networks, the type of material used, the depth, location and the lack of information about the pipes. Thus, this study aimed to carry out the mapping of the asbestos cement pipe in water distribution network of the county of Princesa Isabel – PB. For this, the following methodology was established: collecting information through reports and application form about the distribution network, systematization of data, field demarcation of the points where there was asbestos cement pipe and digital mapping of this pipe using the Google Earth software. From the mapping, it was realized that the asbestos cement pipe covers the central area of the county, covering half of the total pipe water distribution network. In this sense, the map prepared at this research could contribute information relevant to the future replacement of the pipe under study, as well as provide initial data to the onset of new research and database creation.
