Dental patients suffering from cardiovascular diseases that are not adequately treated have a significantly higher risk of cardiovascular event during the dental intervention. Results: The most common cardiovascular diseases that need special dental care are: arterial hypertension, coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, heart rhythm disorders and heart failure. Abstract
