Abstract

Tridosha (humoral) theory of Ayurveda is itself complete and explains all the physiological as well as pathological changes in health and disease. Tridoshas which regulate all the activities of the body, are affected by external environmental (diurnal & seasonal), food and other physical and mental condi-tions including age of a person. As long as the doshas remain in physiological limits, homo stasis of the body is maintained and contributes towards heal tho When this exceeds the body threshold, it disturbs body homeostasis contributing a factor exhibiting the body liable to develop a disease. The seers of Ayurveda have given a great emphasis on the problem and have advocated seasonal conducts (Ritucharya), diurnal conducts (Din-Ratricharya) and other miscellaneous instructions including dietary regimens, putting the human wise to preserve health and avoid illness which a person is liable if he does not maintain his body so as to deal with the natural, unavoidable, biological doshic rhythms in our body.
